Staňka
Stanislava Lieberman Janíčková has been teaching Czech for foreigners since 2002, in various language schools in Brno (Study Czech, ILC International House etc.) and privately. She has an M.A. degree (Czech and English Philology) from the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno and furthered her education by taking a number of courses organised by International House (Certificates in Teaching 1-2-1, i.e. individual courses, 2009; Teaching Business courses, 2010; and Teaching Young Learners, 2011). She has also presented at a number of conferences organised by ILC International House and AUCCJ (Association of Teachers of Czech as a Foreign Language). While she began her career teaching Czech and English (e.g. at Kaplan English School in London, ILC IH Brno etc.), she gradually focused more and more on teaching Czech for foreigners and now exclusively teaches Czech.
Staňka says that the life changing moment for her was an intensive Methodology course for teaching English as a foreign language modeled on CELTA which she took at the Masaryk University in 2006. This opened the door for her to the communicative method of teaching, and ever since that course, she has been adapting its principles to the teaching of Czech.
Stanka has also co-operated on other projects linked to teaching Czech for foreigners. She regularly contributes articles to AHOJ – a magazine for students of Czech, launched in 2016 – and collaborated with Lída Holá and Pavla Bořilová in the development of Krok za krokem 3 (a new, forthcoming textbook).

Eva
Eva Trňáková is an experienced language teacher with a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching from the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University in Brno. Since 1998, she has taught at primary and secondary schools as well as in language institutions, including ILC International House Brno.
She specialised in preparing students for the Czech school-leaving exam (Maturita) in English and for international Cambridge exams such as FCE and CAE. She has completed several teacher training courses, including the IH Certificate in Online Tutoring, IH Teaching One-to-One, and IH Business English Teaching.
Her experience teaching Czech as a foreign language began at ILC Brno, where she taught Czech to native English-speaking teachers. Since then, she has continued to teach Czech both individually and in groups, including preparation courses for the CCE exams (A1, A2, and B1 levels).
Eva enjoys the opportunity to meet new people through language teaching and sees the learning process as a shared journey. She takes great pleasure in designing her own teaching materials and tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs and goals of her students.
